ここには戦時中練兵場があり、シダレヤナギの並木がありました。その中で数本が生き残りましたが、現在あるのはこの1本です。この付近は、ドイツのハノーバー市と広島市の親善友好のシンボルとして造られた公園です。
During the war, this was a military drill ground lined with weeping willows. While a few of the trees did survive at first, currently this is the only one left. Nearby, you can find Hanover Garden, a small park created in commemoration of the sister city relationship and friendship between Hanover in Germany and Hiroshima City.
