1632年に建てられたこの寺院は、原子爆弾によって全焼し、後年再建されたものです。境内にあった2本のクロガネモチも被災しましたがその後再生し、被爆したその場所で生存しています。これらは、原爆の影響で幹が爆心地方向に傾いています。

Built in 1632, the temple was completely lost to fires in the bombing and was rebuilt years later. Two kurogane holly trees inside the temple grounds were damaged in the bombing, but managed to survive. Today, they continue to grow in their original location; as a result of the blast wind, their trunks lean in the direction of the hypocenter.
Note: Temple grounds are a sacred place; be sure to be respectful of those going to worship. There may be times when you will not be allowed inside the grounds.
