Japanese Summer Orange Tree

Before the war, the Kōmyō-in Temple complex used to run to the embankment of the Sanyō railway line. Three bitter summer orange trees were planted along the embankment; they lost all of their leaves in the bombing and were thought to have withered. However, in the springtime two years later, new buds appeared on two of the three trees. These trees were replanted here.
